It’s very common in a wide legged forward fold for students to force their legs into a straight position by pushing the knees back. But the more sustainable and functional approach to exploring straight legs in this pose comes from the thigh muscles engaging via bending the knees, AND THEN possibly entering into a more straight legged position while maintaining the engagement.
